Move forward to a new style with peace of mind, while your past favorite gets a second life. Every submission is reviewed by hand, and eligible pieces will be refurbished and rehomed with care. This beta run is limited while we establish the program.
Who qualifies for Trade-In?
Bags purchased directly from www.glassladderco.com within the last five years are eligible for review.
At this time, the program is only open to U.S. customers.
We can only accept pieces without severe damage or missing parts. We verify each submission by checking your name, email, order details, and photos of your bag’s current condition. If you’re unsure whether yours qualifies, you’re welcome to apply, and we’ll review it for you.
We are now accepting applications for our second round of trade-ins, officially opening in April.
How does it work?
After you apply, our team will review your photos and confirm whether your bag qualifies. If it’s approved, you’ll receive a prepaid shipping label along with a your estimated store credit (up to $50). Once your bag arrives at our workshop, we’ll issue your final credit (valid for two years) as a Glass Ladder Digital Gift Card to use toward a new bag. From there, our team will carefully refresh and repair your well-loved piece so it can be rehomed during a future Pre-Loved shopping event.
When It’s Time for Something New
Because styles change, needs change, and favorites get replaced. Trade-In lets you upgrade without waste, instead of storing a bag you no longer use, you can pass it on, receive store credit toward your next one, and make sure your old favorite doesn’t end up in the trash. It’s a smart way to move forward while giving your past purchase a second run with someone new.

If you’re unsure whether yours qualifies, you’re welcome to apply; photos will help us assess it for you.
What do I receive for my Trade-In?
Approved bags receive up to $50 in store credit, based on the original value and condition of the bag. That range allows us to cover the cost of your prepaid return shipping label, cleaning, and repairs, while still offering you meaningful value toward upgrading to your next bag. The goal is to make Trade-In practical and sustainable for everyone involved: you, us, and the bag you’re passing on.
How long do I have to send my bag in?
Once you’re approved, you’ll receive a prepaid shipping label and have 10 days to send your bag to our workshop.
Note: During our beta launch, this program is currently available to U.S. customers only. We hope to expand eligibility as we grow.
What happens to my bag next?
We clean and refresh eligible bags by hand, make any necessary minor repairs if needed, and prepare them for resale in a future
Pre-Loved shopping event where they can be loved by someone new.
Why are there limited spots?
We’re a small family business, and this is a brand-new program. Because each piece requires hands-on evaluation and refurbishment, we can only accept a limited number of Trade-Ins at a time. If we’re unable to accept your bag during this round, you’re welcome to apply again in the future.
Do you offer recycling or repair services?
We currently offer paid repair services for eligible Glass Ladder purchases, and we’re working to expand that process over time. If you're interested in this option, you can contact support@glassladderco.com to see if your bag is eligible.
We do not yet offer responsible end-of-life recycling for unsellable bags, but this is something we’re actively developing for pieces that truly cannot be restored. Our goal is to continue taking steps towards circular fashion.
Can I return an item purchased with my credit?
Items purchased using Trade-In credit may be exchanged, but the credit itself cannot be re-issued once it’s been used. If you choose to return an item purchased with your credit, the credit is forfeited, though you’re welcome to exchange it for a different style of equal value.
